We’ve booked a variety of hosts and musicians this year to bring a relaxed atmosphere to the festival cafe. There’s plenty of opportunity for you to join in too, so bring your voices and instruments, or simply sit and listen.
12noon - 3pm Hosted by Tony Boyle
Open-mic and join-in session. All acoustic instruments and singers welcome, whatever your era, or genre
Singer-Songwriter Emily-Kate will play during the afternoon at Acoustic Cafe. Featured on BBC Radio Stoke and also nominated this year for ‘Best Solo Act’ in the Music Awards of Staffordshire and Cheshire, she will be bringing her quirky style of original songs with a twist.
3pm - 4.15pm Slowfolkmusic ‘Learn-a-Tune’ Session
Have a go at playing folk tunes at a manageable speed. A session is for budding folkies so bring your instruments and join in. Sheet music will be provided.
4.30pm - 6pm. Hosted by The Boatband
Popular local folk band, The Boatband, will bring their huge and varied catch of tunes: Creole, Caribbean, Gospel, Cajun, English, Zydeco and Blues - to the festival. If it can be played on accordion, fiddle and guitar (or trombone, washboard and banjo),and if it touches the heart and moves the feet, it's in the repertoire.
Come along, relax, be uplifted and enjoy the music. Download Acoustic Cafe flyer.pdf.
